Making it rain + fashion on the red carpet (SAG Awards)

By now, you know that we are deep in Awards Season, and last night, the Red Carpet ended up not disappointing! I, along with so many of my twitter followers (@TheYCBAgency) tuned into E! hoping to catch a glimpse and interview of our favorite celebs, such as Jennifer Lawrence, Kerry Washington, and many more.  Despite Guiliana’s horrible dance lesson on how to “make it rain” or Kelly’s water accident on the Carpet, we were able to create our own commentary and since I follow a few design house’s publicist, we also learned who celebs were wearing before they actually hit the carpet (thanks @dkny!)!

Around the 7:00p (est) hour, what appeared to be a slow night of breathtaking gowns, the tables turned and out steps Marion Cotillard, Naomi Watts, and more!

So let’s get right to it!

Best dressed

Amanda Seyfried in a navy sweetheart neckline gown with layers of ruffles for a hemline, gave me hope for the future! She kept her accessories simple with a long, thin diamond necklace. The mastermind behind it all: Zac Posen! Duhhhh…

Another standout was Jennifer Lawrence, also in navy! An under-the-weather Lawrence took to the carpet in another Dior Haute Couture strapless gown. Side note: Did you notice her pronunciation of “Haute Couture” was so much better than the blunder of it at the Globes? Anyhoo, we were delighted to learn that the dress has a sheer lining underneath that many thought she ripped while walking around the chairs to accept her award.  Hello? It’s Dior Haute Couture…as if!

And my all time favorite…Marion Cotillard in the most beautiful gown that I literally have ever seen in my life! Another Dior Haute Couture (Go Raf!) satin gown that was perfectly belted to show off her tiny waist, and  high-to-low draping skirt that showed off a pointed toe, black sling back.  Everything about Cotillard, from haircut to simple accessories delighted my little fashion eyes! Cotillard, you are the reason fashion rules the world!

Others that weren’t so bad were Tina Fey (when did this happen?) in Oscar de la Renta, Naomi Watts in Marchesa, Jessica Chastain in Alexander McQueen, Kerry Washington in Rodarte, and Sofia Vergara in DKNY Atelier!

Worst Dressed

Although the Carpet was filled with trends such as navy, black, white, side boob and cleavage, it also was saturated with those “what were you thinking” moments.

First up, Julianne Moore.  Ms. Moore is a legend and has lived on the best-dressed list, but not this time. Let’s be clear, it’s not so much the dress - I mean it’s CHANEL – as it is the fit on her.  Something went wrong up top.

Elizabeth Moss opted for a strapless sweetheart neckline, black sequin dress by Dolce & Gabbana.  Another instance where it’s not the dress, but it’s the negligence of styling with proper accessories, hairstyle, and a tan!

And that oh-my-gosh-I-can’t–believe-this award goes to Frieda Pinto.  Pretty girl! Love her a lot, but what is up with this dress? The fuchsia color was striking on her brown skin tone, but the style of it was awful! From the cowl neckline to the belt and side split, the only thing that worked was her smile…nothing else!

Others that I’m side eyeing: Nicole Kidman, and I’m sure there are more!
