Pumpkin Pancakes |
I want to introduce you to, “The Beauty of Cooking!” In
every post, I will take key ingredients out of the kitchen, and show you how to
make it purposeful in your beauty regimen. Here goes!!
The Food Network has turned me into a full out chef! Before
then, I could not imagine me in the kitchen, just standing there and waiting
for something to finish cooking.
Unimaginable, until today, I am now a self proclaim cooking girl! I was introduced to pumpkin pancakes
earlier last year, at a restaurant in Durham, NC called, Elmo’s. We’ll talk about them on a later date
and entry. Trust me, it will be worth the wait...Back to the
pancakes. With just one bite, I
was hooked, and hopefully you will be too!
Below is my Pumpkin Pancake Recipe:
1 cup of Spelt Flour (feel free to use All-Purpose or Wheat
Flour)
1 cup of Puree Pumpkin
1 egg
3/4 cup of milk
3 tsp Baking Powder
1 tsp of salt
1 tsp of sugar
Beat egg to a frothy texture. Add the rest of the ingredients. Mix until well
blended. Pour pancake mixture on a
hot buttered griddle. This recipe
makes ten pancakes.

Where is the Beauty?
I'm glad you asked! Pumpkin is full of antioxidants, as well zinc and minerals,
which means it is good for your face! With the remaining pumpkin, I mixed honey
and milk, stirred well and stored in a mason jar. Apply to a clean face and let it sit for 15 minutes. Rinse well and your face will have a
beautiful glow, and amazingly soft skin!
