BGW Salmon Salad

Now that the holidays are over, not only are you left with fabulous gifts, but also unwanted pounds from over indulging in plenty of good eats! Well it’s time to bring it back in and take control of those unhealthy eating habits.  I will be the first to admit that salads can be a little boring, but I have found ways to make it fun and fulfilling, like adding brown rice! You typically don't think of rice in a salad, but brown rice is a very healthy alternative and gives you extra fiber.  

Here is my version of a salmon salad that is far from traditional! Enjoy!


Bougie Girl Salmon Salad
8oz Salmon
Brown Rice
Mixed Greens
Cilantro
Shredded Cheese
Cucumbers
Red Peppers
Jalapeno
Almonds
Cranberries

1. Seer an 8oz seasoned salmon in olive oil 

2.  Prepare your salad ingredients

3.  Place mixed greens in a salad plate

4.  Place brown rice on top of mixed greens

5.  Add the rest of the ingredients...I also splashed a little bit of ranch for added taste! 


Honey Mustard Vinaigrette Dressing
1tbsp of Honey
1tbsp of Olive oil
1tbsp of Vinegar
1tsp of Dijon Mustard
Black Pepper

Mix well and pour onto the salad
