Afternoon tea at O.Henry

by YC

With an expected high of 90 degrees, I have the audacity to write about hot tea! But it’s totally worth it! There’s a swanky little hotel in Greensboro, NC that if you ever visit the town, you must stay or at least visit.  It’s called the O.Henry Hotel.

The O.Henry has a European ambience that allows your imagination to sweep you away, across the pond to our British friends, joining them for “a spot of tea”! Every weekday from 2:00 – 5:00 PM, the hotel lobby converts over into a “Bougie” social setting for afternoon tea.  There’s an extensive selection of teas, from black to herbal, and everything in between.

You can’t have tea without scones, right? Right! The warm biscuit-like treat is served with cream and preserves.  During my visit, I also enjoyed cucumber sandwiches, spicy cheese wafers, and delectable desserts.  I can’t think of a better way to spend an afternoon.

Promise me this, Love Bugs: the next time you visit Greensboro, NC; you will find time to have afternoon tea.  And invite me, too!
